Tennessee Berry Mule

Serves1 Prepare3 Mins

The Tennessee Berry Mule is inspired by Lem Motlow, one of the very few people to have served as a Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller. Lem was Mr. Jack’s grandnephew, and he shared Jack’s determination to keep the family tradition going. During a few challenging moments in whiskey history, Lem operated a number of side businesses to ensure that the Jack Daniel’s name would endure.  One of those was one of the largest and most successful mule trading companies in the region, which is why we recommend raising a Tennessee Berry Mule in his honour.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7
  • 1 oz Amaretto
  • 1 1/2 oz cranberry juice
  • 8 fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 lime juice
  • Ginger beer

Method

  1. Muddle the raspberries in the base of a cocktail shaker.
  2. 1/2 fill the shaker with cubed ice.
  3. Add all ingredients except the ginger beer and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  4. 3/4 fill a highball glass with cubed ice.
  5. Strain the liquid into the glass.
  6. Top with ginger beer and lightly stir.
  7. Float 3 raspberries on the drink to garnish.
