The return of BBQ season

Can you believe it’s nearly the start of June? No, neither can we! With summer on the horizon we are celebrating National BBQ Week. The BBQ is the quintessential summer tradition. As soon as the sun has its hat on, people across the nation whack on a pair of shorts and fire up the grill.

Here at Costcutter we’ve got you covered with some top tips on how to throw the best BBQ party, come rain or shine.

Put on a good spread

We all love options, especially when it comes to food! Make sure your BBQ food is set up to cater to your guests and their favourites. We recommend creating a topping station for burgers… cheese, onions, salsa, mayo, lettuce, tomato… whatever floats your boat. It’s the best way to make sure everyone gets their dream burger. There won’t be an empty plate in site.

Signature sides

Those extra dishes that everyone love! Potato salad and pasta salad - make sure you have all the best for your lovely guests. Variety is key, so ensure there is a range of dishes for people to add to their plates. Check out our recipe page for more inspiration!

Sprinkle of personality

Add some extra summer vibes to your garden by stringing up some twinkly lights for when the sun starts to set. Or put up some bunting to bring a splash of colour! Match these with some napkins and paper cups for a quick and easy table setting. These small touches can really bring your BBQ party together, without that much effort on your part… WIN!

Summer soundtrack

The essential summer soundtrack could make or break your BBQ. But don’t panic! Here at Costcutter we’ve done the work so you don’t have too. Our very own summer playlist is available to download on Spotify here. So have a listen and make sure to click play when you host your next BBQ!

Bring it home

Us Brits can never be too sure what the weather will bring. But we think you can still have most of the BBQ fun indoors. All you need is tasty food, good company and a bangin’ playlist. Or if all else fails… sit under your parasol and embrace the Great British weather!

But whatever the forecast, fire up your grill and join in this National BBQ Week… and the rest of summer too! What are your plans for this weekend? We’d love to hear from you.
