  • 1 tin (400g chickpeas), saving a few aside to garnish
  • 3 red peppers, sliced from a tin
  • 50g sliced jalapenos from jar, keeping liquid aside
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Sprinkle of paprika to garnish


1. In a food processor or blender, mix the chickpeas, jalapenos, red peppers, tahini, lemon juice & garlic. 

2. Blend, and mid-way through add the cumin and salt & pepper to taste

3. Blend further until smooth adding the jalapeno juice to taste

4. Decant and sprinkle paprika on top, as well as adding a few chickpeas on top

5. Serve
