Roast Chicken


  • Chicken
  • 1 onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 carrots, roughly chopped
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • Small bunch of thyme
  • 25g butter, softened


Step 1. Pre-heat oven to 190 degrees before you start anything!

Step 2. Scatter your onion and carrot over the base of a roasting tin

Step 3. You then need to stuff the chicken with the 2 lemon halves and the thyme

Step 4. Pop your chicken in the roasting tin with the onions and carrots and then smother the skin with your softened butter

Step 5. Next, season your chicken with plenty of salt & pepper

Step 6. Place your chicken in the oven for 1hr 20mins – check your chicken is cooked by piercing with a skewer and the juices should run clear

Step 7. Leave the chicken to rest then it’s ready to cut and add to your perfect Sunday roast!
