Flap Jacks


  • 250g of rolled porridge oats
  • 125g butter
  • 125g brown sugar
  • 3 heaped tbsp of golden syrup
  • Optional extras: chocolate chips, raisins, seeds of choice!


Step 1. Heat your oven to 200 degrees.

Step 2. Melt together your butter and golden syrup by adding to the microwave for quick 10 second blasts until fully melted

Step 3. Once that is done, add in your oats and sugar and stir (this is when you’d add in any optional extras!

Step 4. Add mixture to a greased baking tin and flatten down

Step 5. Pop them into the oven and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown
