Kellogg withdraws Crunchy Nut cereal due to unusual taste.

Kellogg has received a small number of complaints from UK consumers informing us of an unusual taste from some packs of Crunchy Nut cereal. Kellogg is committed to delivering high quality products and we took the precautionary step of testing product samples.

The product is not harmful to consumers. In the unlikely event that your consumers experience an unusual taste from packs of Crunchy Nut cereal with a best before dates 21 June 2008 to 31 July 2008, they should send the pack top with the date code to the following address: Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Careline, Freepost WA1521. Warrington. WA4 6BR. We will send a reimbursement Voucher.

Our analysis has identified that a new variety of peanuts were affected by the usual heat levels required to process Crunchy Nut leading to the taste issues. This has now been resolved. Affected SKU’s are:

No other Kellogg products are involved. Crunchy Nut products not affected include all varieties of Crunchy Nut Clusters, Crunchy Nut Nutty and Crunchy Nut snack bars.

Kellogg is committed to maintaining the highest quality standards. We would like to sincerely apologise for this issue and reassure you that we have resolved the processing problem. Products with best before dates August 2008 are totally unaffected by this notice.
