What is Local Pride?
Costcutter is Proud to be Local, which is why our Local Pride initiative is so important to us.
Local Pride is dedicated to raising much-needed funds for good causes and charities across the UK by raising funds for Making A Difference Locally, a registered charity which in turn ensures that the money raised is spent on good causes in the local area in which they were raised.
The Local Pride campaign does this by working with our suppliers to specially select products which when you the customer buys them a few pence from each sale goes to Making A Difference Locally.
Making A Difference Locally is an independent charity, which then works with Local Pride and your local store to identify and distribute the money that’s been raised by that store to good causes in its community, such as the local amateur football team in need of a new kit.
Over the last few years Costcutter has helped raise over £700,000 to help to make a real difference to the local communities that the Costcutter stores serve.
Stores taking part in Local Pride submit formal applications nominating their local good causes to Making A Difference Locally whose job it is to ensure that donations are properly made and that the recipients comply with strict guidelines. Making A Difference Locally will vet these good causes to make sure they are genuine beneficiaries. Only after a good cause has passed this process can they be eligible to receive donations from Making A Difference Locally.
As a Costcutter customer you can therefore raise money for your local good causes by purchasing specific products, and the great thing is it doesn’t cost you any more money!
Making A Difference Locally Limited (company number 6502266) is a registered charity, registered with the Charity Commission with number 1123800. It is governed by a board of directors who receive no remuneration from the charity and are in place to ensure nominated good causes are genuine and worthy beneficiaries.
